Scrapbooks have been created by several entities to record college activities and more specifically activities of the creating entity.
The first book, in 1949-1950 was created by the staff of the "Campus Corral," the college press club. Items are mainly clippings from the Uvalde Leader News, especially the weekly college section of the paper entitled "The Campus Corral." By 1952-1953, the column was called "Campus Chatter." Included also in that year's book was a number of articles from the sports pages of the Leader News. In the late 1950's and 1960's local and area newspapers were clipped for articles dealing with activities at the college as well as students and former students, including many wedding announcements. Some scrapbooks were created to feature the library, and others the general activities of the college.
